At this election we are using a first past the post system, whereby the candidate who receives the majority of votes cast will win and become Mayor.

All votes will be counted on Friday 2 May 2025 with the result expected in the afternoon.

Each of the Cambridgeshire and Peterborough councils have a Local Returning Officer, who will verify local results and pass them to the Combined Authority Returning Officer (CARO).

The CARO has overall responsibility for the election. The CARO calculates the overall result by adding the 6 individual council's results together before declaring the successful candidate.
