The Combined Authority Returning Officer
The Cambridgeshire & Peterborough Combined Authority have the powers to appoint a Combined Authority Returning Officer, or CARO, to have overall responsibility for the delivery of the Mayoral Election across Cambridgeshire and Peterborough.
The CARO is responsible for the nominations process for Cambridgeshire & Peterborough Mayoral candidates standing for election on 6 May and on the 8 May 2021 will oversee the collating and counting of the votes from across the Cambridgeshire and Peterborough districts.
