At your polling station
All polling stations in Cambridgeshire & Peterborough will be open between 7am and 10pm. By law, if you are not in a queue at the polling station by 10pm, you won’t be able to vote.
If you are registered and entitled to vote you will receive a poll card before the election telling you where to vote. You don’t need your poll card to vote.
When you arrive at your polling station, you will be asked for your name and address by the staff. They will check that you are registered and hand you a ballot paper. They can also help you understand how to fill out the ballot paper.

By post
Anyone registered and eligible to vote can get a postal vote. Many people choose to vote by post if they are away on polling day. The deadline to apply to vote by post is 5pm on Tuesday 20 April 2021. Complete and return the postal vote application form to your local council.
If you are registered to vote by post you will be sent a postal voting pack containing your ballot paper, a postal voting statement requiring your signature and Date of Birth and a freepost envelope.
Electors will received their postal packs from Wednesday 21 April onwards.
You should leave plenty of time to return your postal vote, but if you don’t manage to post it in time you can return it by hand before 10pm on polling day to your local Electoral Services Office or any polling station in your council area.
By proxy
Voting by proxy means that you appoint someone else to vote on your behalf. The deadline to appoint a proxy to vote on your behalf is 5pm on Tuesday 27 April 2021.
Your proxy will receive a poll card before the election telling them where to cast your vote. If they are unable to attend your polling station, your proxy can apply to vote by post but must complete and return a proxy postal vote application to your local authority before 5pm on Tuesday 20 April 2021.
