By law, an election address booklet must be sent to every registered elector in Cambridgeshire and Peterborough.
It contains election addresses from the mayoral candidates as well as information about the election and how to vote. It will be delivered to electors around the middle of April 2025.
Each candidate at the Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Combined Authority’s Mayoral Election is entitled to have an election address prepared on their behalf by their election agent and included within the address booklet.
To have an election address included, candidates must make a contribution of £500 toward the cost of producing the booklet.
Candidates are entitled to a free copy of the electoral register and absent voter lists for each of the constituent authorities in Cambridgeshire and Peterborough.
The request to be included in the booklet and a copy of the election register must be made in writing to the CARO, forms for which are available as part of the nomination pack for candidates.
The Combined Authority Mayoral Elections Order 2017 sets out specific requirements for the booklet including the content of the addresses and what they must and must not contain, the format, submission process and timescales.
The latest time for submission of the information in the correct format is no later than 4pm on Wednesday 2 April 2025, however, to support the production process, it is asked they are submitted as soon as possible.
All requirements have been included in a detailed guidance note for candidates and agents. For more information and to request a copy of this guidance, please contact elections@eastcambs.gov.uk.
